On this exciting morning of May 20, 2025, the Georgia DOGE movement proudly celebrates a major milestone: reaching 1,000 followers on X! From a humble beginning in December 2024 to a vibrant community 87 days later, this journey has been nothing short of inspiring. As the founder of @DogeGeorgia, I’m overwhelmed with gratitude for everyone who has joined us in barking loud for government efficiency in Georgia.
When I reserved the @DogeGeorgia handle in December 2024, I wondered if this vision would ever take off. Inspired by the bold leadership of Elon Musk and Donald Trump—who launched the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) in January 2025—I saw an opportunity to bring that same spirit of transparency and efficiency to the Peach State. On February 22, 2025, I began posting, pouring my heart into growing this movement. Little did I know that just 87 days later, we’d be celebrating 1,000 followers and a network of @Doge(YourCommunity) accounts that’s grown faster than we can track!
Our mission to #DOGESniff out waste and #DOGEBark for transparency has resonated across Georgia, from Savannah to Dalton, Atlanta to Rabun County. The explosion of @Doge accounts—like @DOGECowetacounty, @DogeSpaldingCo, and @DogeForsythCo—shows the power of community in this movement. We now have over 70 such accounts representing counties, municipalities, and causes, all united in the fight for a leaner, more accountable government.
I owe a heartfelt thanks to our early supporters who believed in this vision from the start. Your wags and barks kept us going! Scott Howard, a big thank you! Your willingness to allow great things to happen is nothing short of phenomenal. Bonnie Chappel and Angie Allison you are the unsung hero’s doing the behind the scenes work to pull this off.A special shoutout goes to Isaac Lang, our 1,000th follower on X. Isaac, a Navy pilot veteran and former publisher of the Forsyth County News, is someone I admire deeply. He operates FocusOnForsyth on Facebook, a page with nearly 100,000 followers, and has been a fierce advocate for transparency in Georgia. Isaac and I have fought many battles together, often alongside our late friend David Milum, who blazed a trail for open records and transparency in Georgia. David’s legacy lives on in this movement, and I know he’d be proud of what we’ve achieved.
To my family, friends, and especially my beloved Cindy—thank you for your unwavering support. You’ve been my rock through this journey. And above all, I give thanks to the Maker of it all, for His glory guides us every step of the way.
Elon Musk and Donald Trump’s leadership in creating DOGE inspired us to dream big. Their efforts to streamline the federal government—despite criticism from some quarters—gave us the blueprint to push for a Georgia Department of Government Efficiency. We’re not just a movement; we’re a pack, barking loud at the Georgia GOP Convention and beyond.
Visit DogeGeorgia.org to join our pack and learn how you can support this growing movement. Together, we’ve achieved over 1,000 followers in just 87 days, and this is only the beginning. Let’s keep DOGEDiggin’ for a more efficient Georgia!
Sincerely, Brant Meadows – Founder DogeGeorgia.org
